European club now have £19.4m to invest following strong interest in Leeds United midfielder – View

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara has been attracting interest from Stade Rennais this summer and the French club are set to lose a vital midfielder.

The Whites are not in a position this summer where a squad overhaul is seen as necessary or even sensible under Daniel Farke.

Continuity puts Leeds in a better position for promotion than any major rebuild would, so selling any more midfielders after Archie Gray represents bad business.

Rennes want to sign Glen Kamara from Leeds

There are strong reports that Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais are set to sign Leeds midfielder Glen Kamara this summer.

Signed for £5m from Rangers last summer, Rennes remained interested in the Finland international after missing out on that occasion.

YEP shares that at this point, that’s all there is to it, with no formal offer being sent to the 49ers regarding Kamara’s signing.

Is selling Archie Gray for £40m a good or bad deal?

Enzo le Fee leaves Rennes for £19.4m, opening up midfield vacancy

Rennes’ attempts to sign a new midfielder this summer are sure to increase with the expected departure of midfield star Enzo Le Fee.

He is heading to Roma in a €23m (£19.4m) deal that is expected to be completed soon as he has arrived in the Italian capital to complete the formalities – according to Fabrizio Romano:

Le Fee’s departure is significant for Rennes and leaves a gap to be filled in the way of a competent metronome in midfield who can not only progress the ball towards the final third but also provide resistance to pressing in deeper areas.

That sounds familiar, because that could be why they’re interested in Kamara — even though the two players are of different calibers and at different stages in their careers.

With just under £20m to invest, they could proceed with a bid for Kamara now, even though Leeds have made their stance clear that they will not actively seek to sell him.
