Met Office meteorologist Kathryn Chalk said there would be “light, patchy rain” moving eastwards across England and Wales.

“It’s still going to be hot before then, especially in the southeast, so temperatures tomorrow could probably peak around 27 or 28C,” she said.

“Further north, it will actually be cold.”
