Billy Joel Shares Rare Photos of Daughter Della Rose, 9, on Her Birthday

Billy Joel is a proud father of three daughters, and the 75-year-old singer shared a special tribute to his youngest, Della Rose Joel, in honor of her 9th birthday. The Facebook post featured a series of photos of Della, along with the caption: “Watching you grow and shine leaves us all in awe. We love you <3"

Based on the photos, Joel’s middle daughter seems to love animals, as Joel shared two photos on horseback and one that showed Della petting some goats.

Joel’s fans enthusiastically sent their best wishes to the birthday girl in the comments. One Facebook user wrote, “Beautiful girl. Looks just like her dad. Great confidence and courage to stand up in front of thousands of people and sing. Happy birthday.” Many praised Della for her recent appearance on stage with her father in Cardiff, Wales, on August 9.

Joel and his fourth wife, equestrian and former finance professional Alexis Roderick, have two daughters, Della and Remy Anne, 7. Joel and Roderick married in 2015 and have been together since 2009.

Joel was married to his manager, Elizabeth Weber Small, from 1973 to 1982. His second marriage, to actress and model Christie Brinkley, produced his eldest daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, in 1985. Joel and Brinkley divorced on August 26, 1994. He was married to chef Katie Lee from 2004 to 2009.

Alexa Ray Joel, now 38, appears to have maintained close family ties throughout her father’s relationships, even serving as Lee’s maid of honor during Lee and Joel’s wedding. She also shared a sweet Instagram post announcing the birth of her first sister, baby Della. According to PeopleShe was also in the delivery room when Remy was born.

All three of Joel’s daughters have appeared on stage with him throughout his career. In 2019, the “Piano Man” singer said Rolling Stone who although he is sometimes mistaken for a grandfather rather than a father, his daughters keep him young.
