Spice Girls reunion called off after rumours of Geri Halliwell and Mel B feud: Report

Sorry, Spice Girls fans.

Geri Halliwell has reportedly ended talks over a possible reunion tour over her frustrations with bandmate Mel B, according to a new report.

Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice, is said to be fed up with Scary Spice’s “innuendo and provocation” after months of frosty relations between the pair.

Furthermore, Halliwell’s decision to cancel any potential reunion appears to have been prompted, at least in part, by allegations of inappropriate behavior made against her husband, Red Bull Formula 1 team principal Christian Horner, by an assistant who worked with him.

“Geri has had enough to deal with after all the drama in her husband’s relationship with his assistant – it was a tough time – and she just lost her patience with Mel and her little taunts and provocations,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“She’s gone and without Geri it’s not really going to happen – in the past she’s been a driving force in the group but she doesn’t want to deal with Mel at all at the moment, let alone share the stage with her.”

The source continued: “They’ve always had a rocky relationship, but it’s gotten really complicated now and no one has been able to smooth things over between them — so it’s over again.”

The report comes just a week after Mel B wished Halliwell a happy birthday on her Instagram Story. “Happy 75th birthday Ginge,” the singer, whose real name is Melanie Brown, wrote over a photo of her and Halliwell. In the snap, which appears to be from the 1990s, Halliwell is seen smoking a cigar.

Some interpreted the birthday tribute as yet another of Brown’s alleged digs, as she refers to Halliwell as someone turning 75.

In April, the girls reunited at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party in London and even sang together.

However, a source told the Sun: “Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn’t go to plan.”

“She was laughing about it all, but Geri didn’t seem interested in hearing what she had to say and walked away,” the source added.

Mel B and Halliwell even kept their distance when it came to photos of the iconic girl group.

“When it came time to take the group photo, Geri stood as far away from Mel as possible, which was awkward to watch,” the source confessed. “Geri wanted to be there to celebrate Victoria and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she said about her.”
