Leicester City ready to beat Feyenoord to sign Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte on loan

Leicester City are set to sign Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Feyenoord after agreeing a deal with the Seagulls. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Premier League newcomers have beaten Feyenoord to the Argentina international in the race, which is a huge coup for the Rotterdam club. Leicester have agreed to sign the 19-year-old forward on a season-long loan deal with no option to buy at the end of the season.

Facundo Buonanotte made 36 appearances for Brighton in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing one assist. The youngster is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, an attribute Feyenoord were particularly interested in. The Seagulls signed him from Argentine side Rosario Central in January 2023 for a fee of €9 million. He is now set to join Steve Cooper’s Leicester for the season.

Feyenoord were working on a deal to sign the player, but Leicester are said to have “worked on the deal in the background”. The Rotterdam club will now look to other attacking options in the hope of beating PSV Eindhoven to the Eredivisie title this season.
