Kieran Trippier teases Newcastle United transfer exit after ‘good meeting’ in Saudi Arabia

Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier has hinted at a potential exit from the club this summer after posting an update on his Instagram story.

His future at Newcastle is uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract at St James’ Park. The photo came from his pre-season trip to Dubai and has sparked further transfer speculation among the fanbase.

He was seen leaving Newcastle International Airport last week and the trip to Dubai was known to the club. His return to pre-season training has been delayed until August following international duty with England.

However, his post has fuelled rumours as the 33-year-old has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

The image he posted was a photo taken at the Nobu Atlantis restaurant in Dubai with Tom Spring, a former AFC Bournemouth scout who now heads up the scouting department at Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.

Trippier captioned the post with: “Good meeting.”

Ben Jacobs, a transfer journalist, reported that Trippier is neither on Al Ettifaq’s radar nor within their budget at the moment.

Trippier is expected to return for the matches against Girona and Brest in August, ahead of the Magpies’ Premier League season kick-off at home to Southampton on August 17.
