Former Man Utd star David de Gea is ‘in talks’ with the Serie A side and could reject interest from Saudi Arabia, Spain and MLS

DAVID DE GEA is reportedly in talks with a Serie A club and could reject transfer offers from Saudi Arabia and the USA.

The 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was part of Manchester United’s last title-winning squad but has been without a club for over a year.

De Gea left Old Trafford as a free agent last summer after 12 years at the club, although he did win the Premier League Golden Glove in his final season.

The Red Devils released the star on his wedding day in June.

De Gea continues to live in Manchester and has been seen attending United women’s games.

And he has kept fit by training alone, teasing his return by releasing a three-word update on his future in April.

The footage was taken at his local club Altrincham and he has since dropped another hint that he could be closing in on a free transfer somewhere, posting an hourglass emoji on the X.

The goalkeeper has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

And he has also received “several options, including offers from Saudi Arabia, the United States and Italy,” according to The Athletic.

And that’s the latter they claim may be about to happen.

We reported this week how De Gea was offered to Genoa.

Now, a new report claims he is in talks to join the Serie A club on a free transfer.

Genoa won promotion from Serie B a year ago and finished 11th in their first season back in the top flight.

Meanwhile, United legend Edwin van der Sar recently offered his support to the former Atletico Madrid star.

The former goalkeeper recalled that he went through a similar situation after leaving Juventus in 2001.

But he ended up joining Fulham before heading to Old Trafford and winning the Champions League.

Responding to another training clip posted by De Gea, Van der Sar wrote: “David, keep the faith and believe, because I had something similar in 2001 and look what it got me in the end!”
