Andre Onana told to keep his mouth shut as Manchester United lose to Arsenal

Manchester United lost to Arsenal in a pre-season friendly held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring for the Red Devils but Arsenal hit back with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

The game had pre-arranged penalty shootouts regardless of the results. Erik ten Hag’s team won this round, with Jadon Sancho scoring the decisive penalty.

Much attention was paid to goalkeeper André Onana, who created somewhat bizarre tactics in an attempt to distract the penalty takers.

His antics worked against Kai Havertz as he saved the German effort. However, he failed to repeat the trick when Gabriel Magalhaes stepped up.

Andre Onana told him to shut up

The Cameroonian goalkeeper told the Brazilian where he wanted him to put his effort. Magalhaes went ahead and did just that, but Onana dived in the opposite direction. The Arsenal defender was then caught telling Onana to shut up.

Fans online quickly reacted to the incident

@Movielohd said,

“He sent his brother back to Cameroon,”

@AFC_Jerry said,

“How am I going to tell my children that Onana showed Gabriel where to shoot and he still went in the wrong direction?”

While Eduardo Hagn said,

“Onana is a clown. Gabriel breaks the trash cans above right where he told him to throw them.”

Manchester United’s next game is against Real Betis before they face eternal rivals Liverpool in Colombia to conclude their US tour.
