Manchester United have injury concerns surrounding Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund after both players were forced off during the pre-season defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles.

Hojlund felt a hamstring injury in the first half and new £52m signing Yoro also limped off before the break.

United now face an anxious wait to discover the full extent of the injuries with less than three weeks to go until the start of the new Premier League season against Fulham on August 16.

Hojlund gave United the lead against Arsenal but was forced off.

Yoro, who arrived from Lille just 10 days ago, fell and required lengthy treatment before also having to be substituted.

Injuries are a major concern for United manager Erik ten Hag, whose side were hit by a number of injuries last season.

Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli hit back for Arsenal as United lost 2-1 in the United States.

“It’s too little (to know about the injuries) and we have to wait more than 24 hours, so we hope to know more,” Ten Hag said.

“We were careful especially with Leny (Yoro) as he only did 50 per cent of the (training) sessions. He has to step up but we will be positive and see what comes out.”

United defender Jonny Evans said: “Rasmus has hinted it’s his hamstring, I’m not sure about Leny yet.

“Obviously you don’t want any injuries in pre-season. That’s one of the biggest things you’re trying to avoid. We don’t know how bad their injuries are. Hopefully they’re not too bad.”
