The Whites have been exploring a possible upgrade to their famous stadium in recent years following investment from 49ers Enterprises.

Elland Road, built in 1897 and last renovated in 2017, holds 37,792 spectators at its maximum capacity.

Leeds planning initial ‘£40-50m’ Elland Road development, says Wyness

Wyness insisted the famous stadium was “past its sell-by date and needs some work”.

He said Football InsiderPodcast Insider Track from: “I’m sure the architects gave the club a menu.

“You could add £100m in renovations or even build a new stadium at Elland Road.

“From what I hear, we’re looking at something like £40-50 million to try and improve on what they have now.

“That would be enough to improve the facility they have now and make it usable.

“Then once they are in the Premier League and established, they will look for a major upgrade or even a new stadium.
