Premier League club keen to sign Liverpool talent Jurgen Klopp loved on loan

A Premier League side are interested in signing one of Liverpool’s most promising young talents on loan, who Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of.

The Reds’ pre-season has already begun after they began their tour of America with a 1-0 win against La Liga side Real Betis in Pittsburgh, with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring the only goal of the game while youngster Trey Nyoni impressed.

With Liverpool facing Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, Arne Slot will be tested to his limits in the coming days in the United States, with the Merseyside club also dealing with potential interest in their players.

Leicester City interested in signing Ben Doak on loan

According to the Mirror, Ben Doak is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs on loan, with Leicester City one of the teams chasing the young Scot, who could leave Liverpool this season on a temporary deal.

Hailed as “unbelievable” by former Liverpool star James Milner, Doak came off the bench against Betis earlier this week, with the former Celtic wonderkid regarded as one of Liverpool’s most promising youngsters.

A player who Klopp loved immensely during their time together at Anfield, Doak’s time at Liverpool since moving from Scotland has been plagued by injuries, with the 18-year-old forward missing the majority of the last two seasons due to fitness problems.

However, with the winger back and featuring for Liverpool in pre-season, a loan move could be considered by Doak if first-team options are limited in the new campaign, especially with the Reds back in the UEFA Champions League.

Premier League loan could suit Doak next season

Doak has shown that the Premier League is his level, despite only making a handful of appearances in the English top flight for Liverpool, and joining a club like Leicester could be perfect for the young Scottish international.

Minutes are crucial for someone of Doak’s age, with regular game time being the quickest possible way to develop and grow as a player, rather than being on the bench week in, week out at a club like Liverpool.

And if Doak can come out of pre-season injury-free, there is a real chance the 18-year-old could consider a loan move for next season, with Leicester an ideal destination given his record and new manager Steve Cooper’s preference for using younger players.
