Birmingham mayor announces ‘Pride Where I Live’ day to clean up city

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin announced a citywide cleanup effort called “Pride Where I Reside” that will take place on Aug. 3.

City employees and contractors will work to fix overgrown lots, blighted properties and illegal dumps. The city wants residents, organizations and businesses to clean up around their properties and neighborhoods on August 3.

Tree Branch Falls in Birmingham Days After CBS 42 Investigation, Causing More Damage

Residents can dispose of their trash from 8am to 3pm from August 3rd to 9th at the following city dumps:

  • Ensley District: 1044 Ave. W

  • North Birmingham District: 2413 27th St. N

  • East End District: 301 96th St. N

  • Southside District: 501 Sixth Ave. South

The city’s public works department will provide roll-off dumpsters from August 3-9 at these locations:

  • Ishkooda: Wenonah Road and Old Wenonah Road

  • Wylam Park

  • Inglenook Recreation Center

  • Georgia Road at Brussels Avenue
