Liverpool’s pre-season is well underway under Arne Slot after a 1-0 win over La Liga side Real Betis. Dominik Szoboszlai’s goal in the first-half got the Reds’ tour of the USA off to a winning start.

Despite the win, there are ongoing concerns about the lack of movement in the transfer business. Slot hasn’t signed a player yet this summer despite there being a number of areas of improvement within the playing staff.

The Reds’ Premier League campaign kicks off in less than three weeks now when they travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town. Before then, fans will be hoping to see new faces through the door before then.

The ECHO has taken a look at some of the top Liverpool stories that have been making headlines online and across social media over the last 24 hours.

Ben Doak interest

Premier League teams Leicester City and Southampton are among the clubs interested in Liverpool striker Ben Doak on loan for the coming season. The striker and his representatives are scheduled to take place with Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes over his short-term future.

Doak has made 10 senior appearances since joining from Celtic as the 16-year-old over two years ago. Since suffering a meniscus tear while on duty for the Reds’, the Scotland international has hardened a patient approach to his fitness.

It’s understood that talks are now planned with Slot and Hughes over plans for the next stage of Doak’s career with a handful of clubs circling with interest to complete a loan deal.

Summerville transfer twist

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Crysencio Summerville are likely to continue to play out following reports that the Leeds United star is not pushing to leave the club anytime soon.

According to Pete O’Rourke, clubs interested in the Dutchman are yet to meet Leeds’ asking price despite there being plenty of interest in the winger’s services.

It’s claimed that West Ham have refused to go above £20million with it falling behind Leeds’ £35m asking price. Liverpool are yet to make an official move.
