Newcastle bar gets lavish summer makeover as stunning new look revealed

A popular Newcastle bar looks set to attract even more interest after undergoing a glamorous makeover for the summer with impressive results.

Since its opening in September 2019 to much buzz, Leila Lily’s has established itself as one of Newcastle’s luxury nightlife hotspots. Opening in the Grey Street premises that were famous for years as The Living Room, before hosting the festive pop-up Miracle on Grey Street and then the Alice in Wonderland-themed bar Those Who Know, Leila Lily’s was an instant hit with its customers thanks to its high-quality food offerings and thirst-quenching cocktail menu.

Like every other establishment in the city, the venue was forced to close its doors just six months after opening due to the Covid pandemic, but has been thriving ever since, with a bustling trade during Restaurant Weeks, fashion and makeover masterclasses and its private downstairs party room being booked for all manner of occasions.

The Geordie Shore cast went to Leila Lily’s last year to film and, having closed its doors for a week in May to allow for some fitting out, the venue is now in the midst of a busy summer which has seen it packed as racegoers party after Plate Day, with Ladies Day set to be even busier as the bar also offers ticket holders a free shot with their first drink.

Leila Lily’s has been a place known for its luxurious interiors since day one, with its floral decorations appearing on many social media accounts over the past five years, and now the botanical beauty of the main bar area has been brightened up even further thanks to some neon pink lights to frame the bar and window-style mirrors in the dining area as you enter, with the restaurant also looking extra sumptuous thanks to the addition of plush dark green seating.

Leila Lily’s transformations didn’t stop with the decor, as substantial changes were also made to its menu, with its food offerings bolstered by dishes like saffron roast chicken and chicken gyros, and its drinks being bolstered by concoctions like the Banana Split and Drunk in Summer.
