Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Goncalo Inacio priority, Riccardo Calafiori deal, Manuel Ugarte move

We’re still waiting for any positive transfer news from Liverpool, but at least we had a friendly against Preston North End to play on Friday, with Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott among those involved.

Things are happening behind the scenes in terms of arrivals, but Manchester United signing Leny Yoro from Lille won’t do much to help the patience of Reds fans. Having pursued Yoro this summer, the Reds missed out, with Liverpool left with the impression he wanted a move to Real Madrid.

A few new names have also emerged in the transfer rumour mill. Celtic midfielder Matt O’Reilly is said to be a player the Reds are keeping an eye on, while Liverpool are also reportedly keen on Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz and Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

Richard Hughes has previously spoken about being “opportunistic” in the transfer market, but as the clock ticks towards the new season, Arne Slot’s squad still needs to be bolstered with new additions. That will change at some point, however, and we’ll keep you posted!
