Stevie Nicks fans ‘devastated’ as Glasgow Hydro show cancelled due to leg injury

Stevie Nicks fans are “devastated” after it was announced the former Fleetwood Mac star would no longer be performing in the city tonight.

The 76-year-old American singer-songwriter was due to entertain audiences at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday night from 7.15pm, but the show was postponed due to a leg injury.

The popular venue told fans she would need a “few days” to recover and therefore cancelled her show in the city, as well as her Manchester show on Tuesday, July 9.

Fans have been advised to hold onto their tickets as the rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

Many were heartbroken by the news and sent their well wishes to Stevie.

One wrote: “I am completely devastated.”

Another said: “I’m devastated, on my way to Glasgow to stay in our non-refundable room, but I fully understand that health comes first.”

While a third added: “Very disappointed.”

A fourth wrote: “Was sooo looking forward to going with my 20 year old daughter who loves her too! Get well soon Stevie, hope to see you soon.”

Concertgoers also showed support for Stevie and his decision to postpone the shows.

One said: “I can understand fans being upset (I was supposed to be there tonight too) but let’s not forget Stevie is 76 and in poor health. I’m sure she would have performed if she could have done so safely.

“As disappointing as it is, if she’s hurt and sore, it’s completely understandable why she put it off.”

Another wrote: “Let’s hope she gets better and returns to entertain us soon.”

OVO Hydro wrote on social media: “Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will require a few days of recovery, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow on Saturday 6th July and Manchester on Tuesday 9th July have been postponed.

“Further information will be available at point of purchase. Ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets as the rescheduled dates will be announced shortly.

“Stevie is looking forward to seeing everyone in Hyde Park, London.”
