Scottish killers convicted over ‘disgusting’ sex attack and murder of teenager

Two “depraved” killers have been convicted of raping and murdering a young Scottish man three years ago.

Dylan Brister, 27, and Cameron Allan, 20, were found guilty by a jury at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday. They were convicted of the “sickening” attack on Calum Simpson, 24.

The incident took place at an address in Methil, Fife, in November 2021 after Calum’s body was found inside a property in Herriot Crescent. He had been drugged and subjected to a serious sexual assault.

Inquiries were carried out and both men were arrested and charged in connection with the assault and her death. They are due to be sentenced at a later date.

Detective Inspector Scott Roxburgh, senior investigating officer, said: “Our thoughts are with Calum’s family and friends and I hope the conviction brings them some form of closure.

“This was a particularly horrific and sickening attack on a young man who died after being drugged and sexually assaulted. Both men will now face the consequences of their actions.

“I would like to thank the officers who carried out the investigation as this was a complex and distressing investigation.

“Violence has no place in our communities and Police Scotland is committed to bringing those responsible for such crimes to justice.”
