Report: Bayern Munich no longer willing to pay Joshua Kimmich’s salary, Manchester City could take advantage of the situation

According to a report by Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich are no longer willing to pay Joshua Kimmich’s salary.

The German international wants to see out his contract, but the Bavarians may be sending him signals that things won’t work out for much longer:

From now on, Joshua Kimmich wants to fulfill his contract with Bayern until 2025.

Kimmich currently earns a fixed €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses per year. For every season in which he makes 42 appearances, he receives a share of the bonuses (last season he made 42 appearances). Bayern are no longer willing to pay him that kind of salary.

According to a report from The Athletic (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), one club that may not blink at Kimmich’s salary is Manchester City. Led by Kimmich’s former boss Pep Guardiola, City appear to think they can find a role for the 29-year-old:

Manchester City are looking for a replacement or partner for Rodri. They want to sign Bruno Guimaraes, but not anywhere near the £100m fee that was in his previous release clause. Joshua Kimmich remains of interest to City.

Will fans see Kimmich wearing the baby blue City shirt this season?
