Police have advised the public to avoid the Glenmachan Street area of ​​Belfast due to “ongoing disorder”.

The warning came after police in the south of the city were attacked with petrol bombs and paint on Monday night.




Giving an update, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Road users and members of the public are advised to avoid the Glenmachan Street area of ​​south Belfast due to ongoing disorder.


“Outage is expected for a few hours. We appreciate your patience at this time.”

The warning was issued after disturbances in the area on Monday, when paint bombs and masonry objects were thrown at police and motorists.
