Leicester City in pole position for Juventus’ Matias Soule

Premier League side Leicester City are currently in pole position to sign Juventus star Matias Soule, with Roma also an interested party.

The Sports Gazette reported that Thiago Motta holds Soule in high regard, but the Argentine is Juventus’ most sought-after player in the current market, with there being strong interest from England and Roma. Cristiano Guintoli has told Motta that the player would only be sold if a large offer came in that met Juve’s asking price of €40 million.

Leicester’s first offer was for €25m plus €5m bonuses and was rejected by the Bianconeri. But if they offer a base of €30m and bonuses, they would likely unlock the deal.

While Soule is most interested in joining Roma, the €3 million-per-season salary offered by Leicester tempts him. His agent is currently in Turin and is monitoring any developments regarding his client’s future, while Roma are preparing to make an offer as well. Daniele de Rossi is very interested, but Juve would prefer to sell him to a non-Italian club rather than a European rival in Serie A.
