Person rushed to hospital in Edinburgh after crash on busy roundabout

A person has been taken to hospital after emergency services rushed to a traffic incident at a busy roundabout in West Lothian.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, police and ambulance crews were called to a car crash on the A71 at around 4.03pm on July 16. Police cordoned off the area near Lizzie’s roundabout in Livingston while emergency services attended.




A person was taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh for examination.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were at a traffic incident on the A71. We received the call at 4.03pm and have now left the scene.”

In an image shared with Edinburgh Live, two fire engines and a police car could be seen where officers had closed the road. Traffic in the area was reportedly ebbing and flowing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 4pm on Tuesday 16 July 2024, we were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the A71, just north of the Oakbank roundabout in Livingston.
