North London police officer sacked over sexist social media posts

A Metropolitan Police hearing has found that PC Daniel Naggea breached professional standards of behaviour

A police officer has been fired without warning for making sexist and misogynistic posts on social media.

A misconduct hearing has been held for PC Daniel Naggea, who served in the North Area Basic Command Unit covering Enfield and Haringey, after a professional standards investigation found he had created a number of offensive posts on TikTok.

It was concluded that he was guilty of gross misconduct.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, who is responsible for policing in Enfield and Haringey, said: “PC Naggea’s social media posts were offensive and disrespectful.

“This behaviour is unacceptable. PC Naggea has fallen far below the standards we expect of our officers and it is right that he has been dismissed from the Met.”

The hearing concluded on Tuesday (16) and concluded that Officer Naggea violated the standards of professional behavior relating to discreditable conduct at the level of serious misconduct.

PC Naggea will be added to the barred list maintained by the College of Policing. Those appearing on the list are barred from employment by the police and a number of related agencies.
