Glasgow street closed near Central Station as emergency services deal with ‘medical issue’

A busy Glasgow city centre road has been closed near Central Station as emergency services respond to a medical issue

Police closed a section of Argyle Street between Hope Street and Union Street after receiving reports of the incident on Tuesday (July 16).




The nature of the medical problem is not yet known.

Footage taken from the scene shows an ambulance and a paramedic car parked near the travel centre. Two police officers can be seen speaking to a member of the public.

A police van also appears to be blocking the road. One witness told Glasgow Live they were met with “all blue lights” as they walked up the street.
