Birmingham New Road fire live as area closed after blaze breaks out in Coseley

A main road in Coseley is currently blocked following a fire in the area. Firefighters rushed to Birmingham New Road this afternoon, which is closed southbound amid an ongoing fire.

Traffic was congested in the area during peak hours. Bus services were being diverted away from the area.




A National Express spokesperson wrote on social media platform X: “Due to a fire on Birmingham New Road, Coseley, 8 and X8 to Birmingham are diverting via Mason Street, Park Street and Sedgley Road. We apologise for any disruption to your journey.

The latest update from Inrix reads: “A4123 Birmingham New Road southbound closed. Traffic congestion due to fire service activity between Mason Street and Bronwen Road.


“Congestion on Shaw Road. The opposite side is also congested due to onlookers. Routes around Tipton are also congested as traffic seeks an alternative.”
