Staff ‘threatened with scissors’ in terrifying armed attack on Nottingham bike shop

A gang of masked thieves used scissors to cut cable ties attached to high-value e-bikes and then attacked them. Nottinghamshire Police said the group threatened staff with the scissors and a Stanley knife when they challenged them during the incident.

The gang targeted Rutland Cycling, in Nottingham Road, New Basford, and made off with four e-bikes – worth a total of £22,200. The bikes were stolen at 4.30pm on June 11.

Nottinghamshire Police have since released images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Daniel Maddick said: “Thankfully, the team members were not injured, but this has been a terrible ordeal for them and has left them shaken. We are conducting a number of lines of enquiry to trace those responsible and I would urge anyone with any information that could help us to get in touch.

“As part of our investigation, we are releasing images of two people we would like to speak to in relation to this incident. If you recognise them, please contact us as soon as possible.”
