EPL: Ndidi eager to work with new Leicester boss Cooper

Wilfred Ndidi has said he is looking forward to working with new Leicester City manager Steve Cooper, DAILY POST reports.

Ndidi signed a new three-year contract with the former Premier League champions on Friday.

This put an end to speculation over his future after his previous contract expired late last month.

The midfielder now has a contract with Leicester City until 2027.

The Nigerian international admitted that the new manager was one of the reasons he decided to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

“I had the chance to speak to (Cooper). I spoke to him during the holidays when he came,” Ndidi told the club’s official website.

“He had some great ideas to share with me, so it was really, really, really awesome and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a great guy, he’s funny. I’m looking forward to working with him, it’s really exciting.”

The 27-year-old joined Leicester City from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk in January 2017.

He won the FA Cup and Community Shield with the Foxes in 2021.

Leicester City will host Tottenham Hotspur in their first game of the 2024/25 season on August 19.
