The moment a Birmingham boy finds out he’s going to the Euro final

This is the moment an eight-year-old England fan was told he would be going to the Euro final.

Callum, from Birmingham, was told on Saturday he would be heading to Berlin with his grandfather to watch England take on Spain.

The Birmingham City season ticket holder “just loves everything about football”, his father Craig said, but added that his son “doesn’t understand how important it is in terms of England”.

The young fan is part of the England supporters club, along with his grandfather Jim, but this will be the first time he has seen the national team abroad.

“That will be the pinnacle” if England win, his father said, explaining: “I was lucky enough to see Birmingham City lift a trophy in 2011. Callum (has)… the opportunity to do that for England.”

Callum was the top scorer for a youth team last season and his favourite England player “has to be” former Blues player Jude Bellingham, his father added.

Callum and his grandfather had to be at Birmingham Airport on Sunday morning to fly to Hanover, via Paris, before catching a train to Berlin.
