Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Nico Williams hope, Darwin Nunez ban, Adrien Rabiot approach

Much to the frustration of many fans, Liverpool have yet to get their transfer business underway this summer.

The club have yet to make a move in the transfer market, and Arne Slot’s positive initial impression of his squad suggests that major changes are unlikely. The new manager has begun to get to know his new players, including superstar Mohamed Salah, and will assess his squad.

While he is happy with what he has at his disposal, there is little doubt that Slot and FSG will oversee some movement in terms of arrivals and departures, with Spanish winger Nico Williams and French midfielder Adrien Rabiot both considered targets for the Reds.

Nico Williams latest

La Liga president Javier Tebas has suggested Barcelona could sign Nico Williams this summer despite the club’s financial problems.

Liverpool are believed to be interested in the winger.

Tebas said: “You have to think that with Barcelona’s effort to reduce its wage bill by more than 200 million (euros) and other measures that have already taken place within the club and that have nothing to do with the levers, they can perfectly bring in a player like Nico Williams.”

Adrien Rabiot’s approach

Liverpool are among three clubs who have been approached by Adrien Rabiot’s representatives over a potential transfer, according to HITC.

The midfielder is a free agent after his Juventus contract expired, and the Italian club have no plans to make another contract offer after failing to receive a response ahead of Euro 2024.

It is now suggested that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United have been approached to make them aware of the 29-year-old’s situation. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have also been linked elsewhere.
