We spent £20 at TRNSMT and here’s what we bought at Glasgow’s best festival

With thousands of music fans descending on the eastern edge of the city centre over the next three days, Scotland’s biggest music festival is a huge draw.

TRNSMT returns today (July 12) and is bringing some of the UK’s best bands across three stages, with acts including Liam Gallagher, Sugababes, The Snuts, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris wowing audiences across the weekend.

As people enjoy the best acts, Glasgow Live we wanted to have some fun and see how far our tight budget would take us.

Starting with £20, we went out to find out what food and drink we could get and see how long it would last.

It’s late and bands like Sugababes and Bellah Mae have already rocked the stage. We took advantage of the break between some main acts to go to the scran and, to be honest, the sheer volume of options this year is, just like last year, incredible.

However, as we are pretty basic in terms of food and it being a music festival in Scotland, we had to get some classic dishes to go as cheaply as possible.

We were able to buy a 6oz burger and fries for the princely sum of £12.50 and the portion was a decent size.

Leaving us a fresh £7.50 to get drinks, having managed to get some free sodas from Rockstar Energy Drinks, meaning we could spend the rest on a beer.

Other options included gourmet hot dogs, kebab wraps, and things like fried chicken, noodles, and fries.

If we had decided to focus on liquid things first, we might have opted for a soda (£3) giving us change to play with something else food-wise, like the kebab wrap with fries (£15).

But, to enjoy the full festival experience, we decided to have a beer each, as there were two of us.

Getting a beer each would cost us £6.50 each one, totaling £13and from the excellent wrap place in the center of the festival we were able to get a decent size of fries and curry sauce to £7 to share, to keep us active, which means we got fed and had a few beers.

Overall, for £20 we got:

Or for a heavier version for just under £20 – we have:
