Leeds United eye ambitious Premier League move to solve worrying Daniel Farke issue

Leeds United eye ambitious Premier League move to solve worrying Daniel Farke issue

If there’s one area of the pitch that urgently needs attention in the summer transfer window, it’s Leeds United’s right-back position. Sam Byram is the only recognised senior right-back on their books and, having said goodbye to Luke Ayling and then Archie Gray in recent weeks, Leeds have been left sorely lacking in that area.

Now it looks like the answer could come in the form of a former Premier League player with a move for Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle. Still just 23, the former England Under-20 international has two years of top-flight experience under his belt and a further four seasons playing in the Championship.

It would be a significant transfer and a link that may surprise many, with the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath reporting that Leeds are targeting the player this summer. A move for Bogle would be seen as something of a statement signing for a Blades player ahead of their return to the second tier.

Leeds added Joe Rothwell to their squad last week but are keen to bring in more new faces as soon as possible with pre-season underway, the first pre-season game next week and then a training camp in Germany. Manager Daniel Farke has seen significant changes to his squad over the summer but has so far only missed Archie Gray from what many would have selected from his best XI last season.
