Met Office hourly forecast as fans set to flock to outdoor fan zones for Euro 2024 final

The Met Office’s hour-by-hour forecast predicts fans will face potential rain during England’s Euro final on Sunday. Supporters heading to fan zones and outdoor viewings of the match may need to pack a raincoat.

The outlook isn’t as bleak as it might seem, however, as the worst of the rain looks set to arrive in the morning and early afternoon, with the chance of precipitation decreasing considerably as the 8pm kick-off approaches. The chance of rain in Newcastle is 60% at 12pm, compared to 30% at 8pm when the game kicks off.

With sunset arriving at 9:36pm, there’s no danger of needing sunscreen, with the UV Index at just one in the hours leading up to departure. Wind speeds will also drop considerably, from 25mph at 12pm to 13mph at 8pm, so those with gazebos can rest easy.

Sunday’s forecast reads: “Cloud and outbreaks of rain will continue across northern and eastern England. Slowly becoming drier in Scotland. The rest of England, Wales and Northern Ireland will see sunshine and showers.”
