Sadio Mane’s agent Bjorn Bezemer has insisted the striker is happy in Saudi Arabia amid rumours of a sensational return to Red Bull Salzburg.

Mane joined Saudi club Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023, scoring 13 times in the Saudi Pro League as his club qualified for next season’s AFC Champions League Elite. The 32-year-old has a contract until 2026, but that hasn’t stopped him from being linked with a move away.

Reports in Austria have suggested he could return to Red Bull Salzburg. Mane left the Austrian club in 2014, but Pep Lijnders’ appointment as manager has sparked rumours thanks to the pair’s history at Liverpool.

According to Bezemer, though, there is nothing to speculate about. Al-Nassr will begin their 2024-25 Saudi Pro League campaign in August, and Mane is expected to be there for that.

“I have not had any meetings with clubs about Sadio,” Bezemer told Fabrizio Romano. “He is preparing for the season with Al Nassr and has absolutely no intention of leaving. His club is extremely happy with him.”

Mane spent two full seasons with Salzburg, moving to Premier League side Southampton shortly after. He scored 45 times in 87 appearances for the Austrian club, winning the Austrian Bundesliga in 2014.

“I love the city and the club – then and now,” Mane said in 2019, ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash with Salzburg. He won the competition with the Reds in 2019, also playing in the finals in 2018 and 2022, and scored in a 4-3 win over his former employers at Anfield.
