BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham Police say three people are dead after being shot in the 1700 block of Indian Summer Dr Saturday night.

According to BPD, AT APPROXIMATELY 5:20 p.m., East Precinct officers received a call that there had been a vehicle accident at the scene of the shooting. Officers arrived on scene and quickly learned they were investigating a shooting after observing a blue sedan in the front yard of a residence that was riddled with bullets.

Authorities say upon further investigation, an adult male, an adult female and a small child were observed in the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on scene and pronounced all three deceased.

According to preliminary investigation, BPD believes there was an interaction between the occupants of the vehicle that was shot at and the suspect(s) vehicle in the 1700 block of Indian Summer Dr, near Echo Highlands Park.

BPD says there are many homes and residences in the area and if you have any surveillance footage or any information, call BPD immediately.

“This is where we need you. It’s crucial. Contact us directly (BPD) or Crime Stoppers. If you caught anything on your surveillance footage, Crime Stoppers will honor this reward just as they would if you called in a tip. We have to get to the bottom of this immediately.”
