Rio Ferdinand hails ‘ridiculous’ Crystal Palace star Liverpool could still sign this summer

Crystal Palace’s transfer window is heating up and now Fabrizio Romano has claimed another big exit could be on the horizon.

The Eagles saw Michael Olise head out the exit door this summer, but this may not be the end of the departures.

This is because there is still interest in taking Marc Guehi and Ebere Eze off Palace’s hands, which would be a coup.

Both are absolutely fantastic and could be a deciding factor in whether Crystal Palace fight for a place in Europe next season or not.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Guehi’s future and suggests that despite Palace’s current confidence, the matter is far from over.

Fabrizio Romano provides update on Marc Guehi

Having already lost Olise to Bayern Munich this summer, a second big sale appears to be on the cards, with Eze and Guehi attracting interest.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has spoken out on Guehi’s future, insisting that despite the rumours not being followed up, there is a chance Palace could still see him leave.

In an exclusive interview with Caught Offside, Romano explained that Palace are calm about Guehi’s situation but that there will be discussions after the Euros, but for now, nothing is concrete.

“Marc Guehi has been excellent for England during the Euros and a lot of clubs have been watching him this season, but at the moment nothing is concrete yet.

“For example, around March, Liverpool asked about his situation but did not follow through with proposals or negotiations.

“I can assure you that, as of today, it remains a calm situation that will be discussed later in the window.”

Rio Ferdinand praises Guehi for England performances

After Guehi’s Euro 2024 campaign, it would be hard to believe that Palace wouldn’t receive interest from Europe’s top clubs.

Now, speaking of Rest is Football, Rio Ferdinand has released a brilliant analysis of Guehi that shows just how excellent he has been.

“I think Marc Guehi was the most consistent from start to finish. He was ridiculous and again, first tournament for him as well. He was great.”

Guehi has been England’s standout performer throughout their run to the final and if the trophy is lifted by the Three Lions on Sunday he will take much of the credit.
