Live Arts Festival

An arts and dance festival curated by Executive Artistic Director Terry Wilson that supports San Diego Dance Theater’s mission of including local and international multigenerational dance artists. Work Study alumni Ilyana Hughes, Mariana Lara, Marcella Torres-Sanchez will present new works alongside guest choreographer Alexa Lopez.

San Diego Bay Festival

This year’s Bayfest is headlined by a reunion of 1990s island alt-rockers Sublime. The original members are now led by San Diego-raised Jakob Nowell, the son of their late lead singer. Nowell warmed up to his father’s position while fronting similar acts such as Law and Jakob’s Castle. Also performing will be Atmosphere, Goldfinger, Barrington Levy, Makua Rothman and Kyle Smith.

Dog days of summer in Cardiff

Vendors, rescue groups, pet adoption agencies, an agility course, a lure coursing course and rescue demonstrations. Dog competitions, live music, food trucks, a beverage lounge and raffles. The Rancho Coastal Humane Society “Rescue Row” hosts several rescue groups with adoptable pups. The City of Encinitas “Pet Health Expo” will offer pet services and microchipping. Ice cream eating contests for dogs, cutest pup, best dressed and Silver Face. First place winners will receive a gift basket filled with dog food, toys and treats.
